Teach 36 children with limited English to read

Reading is an essential skill that plays a crucial role in children's cognitive and language development. It helps expand their vocabulary, improves comprehension, and fosters a love for learning. Through the Literacy Master Map Program, children engaged with books that introduced them to different cultures, emotions, and problem-solving skills, building a strong foundation for their literacy journey. Children explored different traditions, including winter holidays and Chinese New Year, gaining an understanding of diverse celebrations. They also worked on answering comprehension questions and retelling stories, reinforcing their ability to recall details and sequence events.  In addition to reading, we incorporated hands-on projects that complemented the stories. These activities helped children connect with the material in meaningful ways, fostering creativity and deeper engagement.  Each child made unique progress during the program: Maxim showed great enthusiasm for learning new words and enjoyed participating in discussions about the stories.  Melania improved in retelling stories with details.  Marharyta demonstrated strong comprehension skills and was eager to answer questions about the books we read.  Dominic became more confident in expressing his thoughts about the stories and enjoyed participating in group discussions.  Nicole showed creativity during project activities and was able to recall key details from the books.  Mya engaged well in conversations about emotions in stories and demonstrated growth in answering comprehension questions. Alex was excited to celebrate different holidays through books and actively participated in story-related activities. By participating in these literacy activities, children not only improved their reading skills but also developed their ability to express thoughts, understand emotions, and relate to others. The Literacy Master Map Program continues to support their growth, making reading an enjoyable and enriching experience. It is time to say you again our special appreciative words for supporting the Literacy Master Map program 2024-2025 school year. You need to know that your donation has helped us meet our goal! We could update our Social Skills Library and sensory textured materials and tools for our unique young readers. Your donation helps us to be prepared for the year ahead.

During all Parent Committee meetings we can hear the best appreciative words for our main supporter GlobalGiving Foundation and many community donors, helpers, and volunteers. We always are so grateful that you chose to donate our reading program.

We have bilingual and trilingual children who are required help with literacy, comprehension, and speaking skills. Our reading standards offer a focus and exposure to a range of text. Each year our students are expected to meet new expectations and competencies in reading and writing while retaining skills and effective strategies that were learned at the previous level. 

We are incredibly thankful for supporters such as you, and we are blessed to get your support and financial help! Our Board of Directors and Parent Committee thank you for helping us make a positive change in each young reader of our Literacy Master Map program.
