Action Change in Action

By Hannah | Action Changer

Hey friends!

Hannah here, checking in with a massive burst of energy and a huge thank you for standing by us. This specific project is the absolute heart of Action Change because it acts as our global safety net, allowing us to channel funds exactly where the need is greatest at any given moment and keep our operations running smoothly.

If you look at the math lately, it is wild out there. Since February, we have seen a sobering 72% drop in donations, while the number of people reaching out to us in poverty has shot up by a whopping 194%. Talk about a crazy catch-22! We have stripped our running costs down to the absolute bare bones, but if you think that means we are giving up, think again. We are shifting gears from survival mode straight into long-term sustainability to ensure our 90+ global initiatives can survive this financial mess.

To help us fight back, we have just welcomed 12 incredible professional volunteers and mentors to the team. They are already hard at work building rock-solid short, medium, and long-term plans for our partners. Plus, we have 2 brilliant volunteers packing their bags right now to head out to Guatemala to train and support the community there!

Our army of volunteers is showing up every single day to change the future narrative, and look at what your support is allowing us to tackle right now:

  • Finding the funds to feed over 26,000 children every single day.

  • Actively responding to the emergency Ebola crisis in Africa to keep families safe.

  • Guiding displaced youth affected by war to find their feet and rediscover hope, purpose, and a community that loves them.

  • Getting ready to build the first-ever Living Seawall in Africa, using cool eco-engineered panels in Cape Town to boost marine life and fight climate change!

Over the last 15 years, this project has seen 138 amazing donors raise over $13,000 to keep our core operations stable. Right now, we have exactly 0 monthly donors on the books for this safety net fund.

While your one-off gifts are life-saving, having a predictable pool of regular funding would completely change the game. Imagine if just a small handful of our 138 past supporters set up a regular gift of $5 a month. It would give us the rock-solid foundation we need to map out operations and support our global projects with total confidence. If a donation isn't possible right now, you can still be an absolute superstar for free just by sharing our link and story with your networks.

To sign off with some seriously exciting news, please save the date for the GlobalGiving July Bonus Day on July 15th and 16th! Any unique donation you make up to $100 will get a brilliant matching boost from a special funding pot. It is the perfect, joyful lifeline to help us strengthen our core operations and keep showing up for communities worldwide.

We are constantly overwhelmed by your drive and encouragement. Thank you for walking this wild, beautiful journey with us!

With hope, high-fives, and endless gratitude,
