Since our last report, the project continued to equip Brazilian youth with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to pursue their first formal employment opportunity. More than 100 adolescents participated in the Career Coffee Week, where professionals from different fields shared their career journeys, challenges, achievements, and valuable lessons learned throughout their professional lives. These conversations inspired participants to explore career possibilities and better understand the paths available to them.
To provide practical exposure to the world of work, participants took part in five technical visits to partner companies, where they were able to experience the daily routine of large organizations and learn about different professional roles. They also participated in mock job interviews conducted with partner companies, an essential hands-on activity that helped them develop communication skills, build self-confidence, and prepare for real recruitment processes.
One participant, Lucas, age 17, shared that before the mock interviews he felt nervous and unsure about how to present himself to employers. Through the guidance and practical experience offered by the project, he gained confidence and learned how to communicate his strengths and aspirations more effectively. Experiences like these help bridge the gap between education and employment for young people facing social vulnerability.
The project continues to generate meaningful results. Over the last year, 28% of participating adolescents secured formal employment opportunities, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining career guidance, professional exposure, and practical workforce preparation. These achievements bring young people closer to economic independence and a more promising future.
