A Shoreline Begins to Breathe Again
This month, something remarkable happened along the shores of Lake Victoria. What was once a degraded stretch of land—bare, eroded, and silent—has begun to breathe again. With your support, local communities planted hundreds of native trees, restoring life to an area long stripped of its natural resilience.
Women and youth groups worked side by side, their hands in the soil, sharing stories and hope. One community elder remarked that for the first time in years, he sees birds returning to nest near the shoreline. It is a small but powerful sign that nature is healing.
Beyond the trees, this work is restoring dignity and purpose. Families are gaining skills, income opportunities, and a renewed connection to their environment. The wetlands, once drained and neglected, are slowly reclaiming their role as protectors—filtering water and preventing floods.
This is only the beginning of a 3,500-hectare journey. Your generosity is not just planting trees—it is rebuilding ecosystems, strengthening communities, and creating a legacy of restoration that will endure for generations.
