This project will provide daily nutritious meals to vulnerable children with disabilities and in rehabilitation at ACDF Goma Orphanage. With rising food prices and limited resources, many children face inadequate nutrition, affecting their health and recovery. The project will ensure consistent, balanced meals for at least 20-25 children over 12 months, improving their wellbeing, growth, and ability to participate in education and rehabilitation programs.
Children at ACDF Goma, especially those undergoing physical rehabilitation, face serious nutritional challenges due to poverty, rising food prices, and unstable economic conditions. Many depend entirely on the center for daily meals. Limited funding makes it difficult to provide sufficient and balanced nutrition. Poor diet weakens their immune systems, slows recovery, and affects school performance, putting their future at risk.
This project will provide consistent, nutritious meals to children at the center by supporting food purchases, kitchen operations, and meal planning. Funds will cover staple foods, proteins, vegetables, and cooking supplies for one year. The project will strengthen the existing kitchen managed by trained staff, ensuring children receive at least two balanced meals daily, improving their health and supporting rehabilitation and education.
Improved nutrition will strengthen children's health, accelerate recovery, and enhance their capacity to learn and grow. Over time, healthier children will perform better in school and become more independent. The project will also reinforce the center's sustainability by stabilizing food support, contributing to long-term community resilience and better opportunities for vulnerable children in Goma.
