In our community, HIV-positive girls face a cruel turning point when they learn their status. Fear, stigma, and shame push many to drop out of school. Once they leave the classroom, they lose not only their education but also vital knowledge on how to live with the virus, adhere to treatment, and prevent further transmission. Without this guidance, many girls unknowingly spread HIV to young boys and peers, fueling the very crisis we seek to end.
Your support changes that. We are promoting targeted programs that keep HIV-affected girls in school while equipping them with accurate, age-appropriate information. Through mentorship, peer support groups, and health education integrated into daily learning, these girls gain the tools to manage their status, build self-esteem, and protect themselves and others. They learn about antiretroviral therapy, safe practices, and how to break the cycle of silence.
By staying in school, these girls reclaim their futures—becoming informed leaders who reduce new infections and stigma in their communities. Every child deserves the chance to live healthy, empowered lives. With your partnership, we can ensure that an HIV diagnosis does not become a sentence of ignorance and isolation. Together, we can stop the dropout cycle, protect young people, and build a safer, more informed community for all.
