Project Report | Jun 2, 2026
Update, thank you!

By Karyn Mikkelsen-Tillet | Director Global Partnerships & Communication

Dear Friend and Supporter,

Because of you, 2025 has been a year of real, measurable change in the lives of young Malagasy people who had very little else going for them.

This year, PNM directly supported 200 young people — and through them, more than 800 family members. Every single student who completed our preparatory programme validated their year and moved on to a partner university. That is a 100% pass rate, for the fourth consecutive year. Sixteen students have now earned a full Bachelor's degree since the programme began in 2022, and our founding cohort is on track to graduate by mid-2026 — the moment we have been building toward since day one.

The students we select are aged 18 to 21, come from vulnerable households across Madagascar, and arrive with a baccalaureate and a determination to build a career in technology. Many have never used a computer before they walk through our door. Within ten months they are ready for university-level IT studies. Within four years they are employed. That transformation does not happen by accident — it happens because of sustained, holistic support: 635 hours of classroom instruction, four-week professional internships, 126 individual counselling sessions, 63 home visits, and a team that stays with each student from their first day of class to their first day of work.

In November 2025, we celebrated all of this together at a graduation ceremony in Antananarivo that also marked the 20th anniversary of Passerelles Numériques globally. The pride in that room was the clearest proof of what your support makes possible.

Looking ahead, our focus is on closing the gap between qualification and employment. French proficiency and professional confidence remain the main barriers our graduates face in the job market, and we are expanding our language coaching and employer partnerships to address this directly. The foundation is solid. The results are proven. What we need now is to keep going.

We hope you will stay with us and considering donating in 2026!
Thank you for making this possible.
