Despite ongoing pressure on Ukraine’s healthcare system due to the war, ensuring access to uninterrupted oncology treatment remains a critical priority. For many patients, continuity of care directly affects treatment outcomes and overall stability.
Through the Ukraine Cancer Relief program, Mission Kharkiv continues to work with healthcare facilities and patients across the country to ensure the timely availability of essential cancer medications.
During this reporting period, the program enabled the distribution of 5,532 units of oncology medicines through 390 separate dispensing actions.
Of the total amount, 3,537 units were provided to healthcare institutions, supporting hospitals and medical teams in maintaining treatment protocols under extremely challenging conditions. In parallel, 1,995 units were delivered directly to patients, ensuring continuity of care at an individual level throughout ongoing treatment.
In total, 390 patients benefited from this support, including 245 women and 145 men, reflecting the broad reach of the program across different communities and treatment needs.
Distribution activities took place across several key locations in Ukraine:
Kharkiv - 276 distributions
Lviv - 57 distributions
Dnipro and Nova Poshta logistics - 57 distributions
These figures also reflect the logistical complexity of operating in a context where access to healthcare can vary significantly between regions, yet the need for treatment remains constant everywhere.
Ukraine’s healthcare system continues to function under sustained strain, with supply disruptions and unpredictable conditions affecting service delivery. In oncology care, even short interruptions in treatment can have serious consequences for patients.
Ensuring consistency in medicine delivery therefore remains essential.
Each unit of medicine represents not only treatment, but also continuity, dignity, and the ability for patients to continue their care journey without interruption.
We are sincerely grateful to our donors and partners whose support makes this work possible. Your contribution ensures that people living with cancer in Ukraine continue to receive the treatment they depend on, even in the most difficult circumstances.
Thanks to your support, treatment continues. Care continues. Hope continues.
