Summary

This project supports at-risk youth in South Korea who are struggling with severe emotional distress, social isolation, and a loss of direction. In a country with one of the highest youth suicide rates among OECD nations, many young people fall through the cracks of family, school, and social systems, leaving them without the support they need to cope, heal, and grow. Through personalized mentorship, home-based counseling, educational and vocational training, and specialized care for self-harm.

Challenge

South Korea faces a critical youth mental health crisis, with suicide remaining the leading cause of death among young people. Behind this statistic are countless at-risk youth experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and social isolation. Many of these young people are out of school, disconnected from their families, or living in unstable environments. Without access to consistent care or trusted adults, they often internalize feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness.

Solution

This project delivers targeted, relationship-based interventions that address both the immediate and long-term needs of at-risk youth. Our approach is holistic and continuous, recognizing that trust and recovery take time. By combining mental health care with education and life skills, we help youth move from crisis toward stability and self-reliance.

Long-Term Impact

With sustained support, at-risk youth can move from isolation and emotional distress toward stability, confidence, and meaningful participation in society. We aim to support 100 vulnerable young people yearly, equipping them with the tools to rebuild their lives and envision a future. Over time, many of these youth grow into mentors, role models, and contributors within their communities-creating a self-sustaining cycle of support in which those once helped become those who help others.
