Poncitlán is home to one of the communities most affected in the world by childhood kidney failure. Contamination of the water sources they rely on severely impacts their health. Poncitlán is the second municipality worldwide with the highest number of juvenile kidney failure cases, affecting approximately 47% of people under the age of 30.
In this place, the work of ONI becomes essential. Our program provides educational and nutritional support, as well as a nutritional supplement that supplies the needs their bodies require to survive. Thanks to your support, in this community we are able to assist 373 people—pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and children from 6 months to 10 years of age.
With your help, we can achieve this and much more. Help us ensure that all children can thrive.
