The grassroots workers at Seva Mandir are the heart and soul of our work. Every day, they walk long distances, reach remote villages, and stand alongside tribal and rural families to bring hope, dignity, and change. Their commitment is extraordinary, but their own lives often carry quiet struggles.
With limited incomes, many of them find it difficult to meet basic needs. Supporting children’s education, managing medical emergencies, or dealing with long-term illness can become overwhelming—challenges that sit alongside their deep commitment to serving others.
One such story is that of Premila, who works as a teacher in Seva Mandir’s Residential Learning Camps for children who have dropped out of school or never been to school. Over the past two years, she has become an integral part of this space, helping children reconnect with learning and rebuild confidence.
Alongside her work, Premila is pursuing her dream of becoming a qualified teacher. With support from Seva Mandir, she took the first step and enrolled in a B.Ed programme in Jodhpur. Today, she balances her teaching work and studies, moving between her village and college as needed.
For grassroots educators like Premila, continuing education is not easy - it requires balancing work, family, and financial pressures. Yet it is this learning that strengthens their ability to support children more deeply and effectively.
This is where your support becomes vital. It enables grassroots workers to continue their education, strengthen their skills, and grow in their roles without leaving the communities they serve.
