Community Consultations and Local Ownership

Community participation remains at the heart of our Community Libraries Project. Over the past several weeks, we have conducted extensive consultations across the target communities to ensure that local residents actively contribute to the planning and implementation process.

Meetings brought together parents, teachers, community leaders, youth groups, and other stakeholders to discuss library locations, management structures, and strategies for long-term sustainability. Participants shared ideas on how the libraries can best serve local children, including school-going learners and those currently out of school.

One of the most encouraging outcomes has been the strong commitment demonstrated by community members. Many residents have volunteered their time and resources to support the project, while local leaders have pledged ongoing oversight and protection of the facilities. This level of ownership is essential for ensuring the libraries remain functional and beneficial long after the project is completed.

These consultations have also strengthened community awareness about the importance of literacy and access to educational resources. We thank all supporters who continue to invest in this vision. Together, we are laying a strong foundation for sustainable learning spaces that will positively impact children and youth for years to come.
