Bella has a sunny personality and a big smile that lights up any room. She also has a complex set of medical challenges that have required cutting-edge care at Boston Children's Hospital from the start. Bella was born with cerebral palsy, which impairs motor skills and causes other issues like breathing problems.
When Bella was 9, genome sequencing at Boston Children’s uncovered another diagnosis: a rare genetic condition that can lead to developmental delays. She also has a rare intestinal disorder that causes severe abdominal pain and digestive issues.
A team of specialists collaborates to help Bella stay healthy—offering the latest diagnostic tools, treatments and services. This comprehensive care allows Bella to be a bubbly teenager and celebrate special moments like her 15th birthday. When she needed to be hospitalized on that day, her care team surprised her with a quinceñera party in the hospital.
Watch this video to meet Bella and see how your contributions make healthy futures possible for kids like her.
Your gift will help local families and those that travel from every state and nearly 100 countries to find lifesaving answers they can’t get at home. Thank you for supporting kids and families at Boston Children’s Hospital!
