Education is the gift of life
Education is the gift of life

You certainly do make a difference.

Sometimes we count up what has been achieved, and your gift to the lives of children in Nepal has changed the lives of many…

138 students supported in Education across Nepal and India, giving them a chance of a better future.

3 rural schools renovated, and with extra classrooms built to create a better space to learn

22 single mothers supported, so they can support their children and hold a family together.

15 orphan children, supported with care and shelter, providing a loving family of families to embrace them

5 children with special needs receiving dedicated support that meets their individual needs and again embracing them within a loving family.

6 Children supported with critical medical care, helping kids through some of their most difficult challenges.

All made possible by 150+ supporters from around the world, proving that when we give a little and share what we have, we really can make a big difference.

Over 14 years, we have changed over 250 lives, with 75% now living independently.

You Give hope, inspiration and create a better tomorrow

A couple of quotes that echo the very real changes our gifts create, and perhaps it is when we know that we can make such a difference that we become part of creating a better tomorrow…

Today Pramila and I rode to the rural school on my motorcycle. The road is rough and exhausting the entire way, but the moment you reach the school and see the children smiling and enjoying what has been arranged for them, all the tiredness disappears like the wind.

We will never forget the love and compassion you have shown our family. Your help has touched our hearts in ways words cannot fully express, and we will forever be thankful for everything you have done for us.”

What we take for granted, others might dream of…

We, those of us living in developed countries, expect to have an education; many children in developing countries do not have that same opportunity.

We have delighted in taking individual ‘kids’ through their kindy to university years, staying with them like caring parents, giving them an opportunity to grow into their true potential.

We also work with rural schools and rural schoolteachers, for we also know that the schools also need help and encouragement to be able to better deliver their services to whole school communities.

Once again, it is the giving and the sharing of what we have that enables others to enjoy some of what we take for granted.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

Nelson Mandela

Financial summary…

Our Budget for 2025-26 is $132,154 for our primary areas of operation supporting 40 students, running our two hostels for some of the students and giving monthly essential support to a number of single mothers.

With two education specialists on the committee, we are also looking at programs to support Rural Schools and to provide teacher training, and these activities will run as distinct projects with their own budget and sources of funding.

IGWR began with a moment of realisation, a vision that we could make a difference;

a belief that we can give life to a child for the cost of a cup of coffee a day

IGWR is run by caring volunteers and that means that 99.52% of all monies donated goes directly to the operations of IGWR-Nepal. And remember gifts in Australia are tax deductible.
