Lana's Journey to Independence

By Nour Elmasry | Digital Marketing Specialist

We would like to sincerely thank all donors and supporters who made this work possible. Because of you, real change is happening in the lives of wheelchair users and their families. Your support does not only provide help — it brings hope, dignity, and a chance for a better life.

Lana is an 8-year-old girl from Luxor and a second-grade student who faces daily challenges due to spina bifida, a condition that has caused paralysis in her lower limbs. Despite these difficulties, Lana remains determined to attend school every day and continue her education alongside her peers.

Like any child, Lana dreams of learning, growing, and enjoying her childhood without barriers. However, getting to school and moving around independently was a constant struggle that affected her daily life and access to education.

To help Lana overcome these challenges, Alhassan Foundation provided her with an electric wheelchair, giving her the mobility and independence she had long hoped for. In addition, the Foundation constructed an accessibility ramp at her school, ensuring that she can enter the building and move around safely and comfortably.

Today, Lana can attend school with greater ease and confidence. The support she received has not only improved her mobility but has also empowered her to pursue her education and move closer to achieving her dreams.

Because accessibility is not a luxury—it is a fundamental right for every child. Through inclusive solutions and equal opportunities, children like Lana can thrive, participate fully in society, and build brighter futures.

We want to thank each and every donor or supporter who helps us to achieve this success and we urge you to continue supporting us in our cause, our hope, our dream. You can do that through subscribing to a monthly donation option, which helps us secure more funds to help more wheelchairs users and their families.
