Uplift Education in the Philippines

Dear Supporters,

The first months of 2026 have been marked by important milestones for the children and young people participating in FundLife's Uplift Education in the Philippines project. As learners returned to school and community-based activities resumed, we continued creating safe, inclusive spaces where children could learn, grow, and develop the skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex world.

Education recovery remains a significant challenge for many vulnerable communities across the Philippines. Yet through mentorship, play-based learning, digital engagement, and strong community partnerships, children and young people continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience and determination. This period was particularly meaningful as we celebrated learners reaching important educational milestones while expanding opportunities for youth to strengthen leadership, confidence, digital literacy, and life skills.

Through your continued support, FundLife reached 1,016 children and youth aged 9–17, including 493 girls, 515 boys, and 8 non-binary young people through integrated education, mentorship, digital learning, and sport-for-development initiatives designed to keep young people engaged in learning and connected to positive opportunities.

Key Highlights from January 2026 - May 2026

• Celebrated the educational achievements of 107 FundLife participants who successfully completed key stages of their education. This included 78 learners graduating from elementary school, 6 girls moving up from junior high school, and 23 young people graduating from senior high school. These milestones demonstrate the project's continued contribution to helping vulnerable learners remain engaged in education and progress toward brighter futures.
• Delivered 44 football and futsal sessions that used play-based learning to strengthen teamwork, leadership, confidence, discipline, and social-emotional skills while keeping children and young people connected to positive learning environments.
• Facilitated 41 mentorship sessions, providing learners with guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to build resilience, strengthen personal development skills, and explore their future aspirations.
• Continued weekly digital mentorship sessions in partnership with Information Technology students from Eastern Visayas State University -  Dulag, helping young people strengthen digital literacy, technology skills, and career readiness.
• Conducted three play festivals and community learning events that encouraged participation, strengthened social connections, and fostered supportive environments for children and young people.
• Strengthened partnerships with schools, local government units, higher education institutions, and community stakeholders to expand opportunities and create more supportive learning environments for children and youth.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the second half of 2026, FundLife remains committed to ensuring that children and young people have access to safe learning spaces, trusted mentors, and meaningful opportunities to develop the skills they need to succeed. We will continue strengthening digital learning pathways, supporting educational progression, and creating environments where every child can build confidence, pursue their goals, and realize their full potential.
