Support Needed
By Annete Kotange | Project Coordinator, HomaBay

While we have not yet acquired land for the Community Centre for 10 Villages in Kenya, the dream is very much aliveand growing stronger every day with your support.
In the meantime, we are using our small rented space in Homa Bay to continue reaching and empowering young people. Through this temporary setup, we’ve provided mentorship, digital literacy, and life skills training to dozens of youth from nearby villages. Despite the limited space, the impact has been powerful proving once again that transformation begins long before walls are built.
We’ve also been actively sharing our vision with the community through meetings with local leaders, youth forums, and women’s groups. These conversations have helped shape a collective dream for the future centre a space where young people can learn, collaborate, and thrive; where women can access skills and economic opportunities; and where the entire community can gather with dignity and purpose.
We are still fundraising for land and construction, but your contributions are already planting the seeds of change. Thank you for believing in what this centre will become.

Partner with us to build the Centre

Due to financial constraints, we have not yet been able to build the planned community centre. However, our commitment to engaging and empowering the youth remains steadfast. In the absence of a physical space, we continue to conduct various activities aimed at skill-building, mentorship, and community development in alternative locations.
These programs have provided valuable support, fostering resilience and personal growth among the youth. Our engagement efforts include leadership training, entrepreneurship workshops, and recreational activities that create safe and productive spaces for young people. One inspiring story is that of Kevin, a young leader who has taken an active role in mentoring his peers through our leadership program.
His journey highlights the impact of our initiatives despite the challenges we face. We remain optimistic about securing the necessary funding to build the community centre, which will serve as a hub for education, entrepreneurship, and social services. We continue to explore partnerships and fundraising opportunities to turn this vision into reality. Your ongoing support is crucial in helping us provide a dedicated space for the youth and the broader community.

Building a Hub of Hope For 10 Villages in Kenya.
By Esther Kirui | Project Coordinator

The project has been gradual due to challenges in securing necessary funding. Despite this, our commitment to creating a central space for education, social activities, and economic empowerment remains strong. Over the past quarter, we have focused on strengthening community partnerships and engaging local stakeholders to align the project with the needs of the villages. This groundwork is setting the stage for future progress and ensuring community buy-in.
In the meantime, we have shifted our focus to engaging the youth from the targeted villages through various activities. We have organized mentorship programs, community clean-ups, and skills training workshops to equip them with valuable knowledge and practical skills. These initiatives have not only kept the youth involved but also fostered a strong sense of ownership and excitement about the project. We are confident that with continued engagement and renewed fundraising efforts, we will make significant progress in the coming months.
