Upon his arrival, SEMA’s medical team acted quickly, transferring him to the intensive care unit and beginning urgent treatment without delay. Over the following days, doctors closely monitored his condition and provided the specialized care he needed, including a complete blood transfusion that proved essential to saving his life.

Slowly, Aref began to recover.

What started as a critical emergency turned into a story of survival, relief, and renewed hope for his family. Today, Aref’s improving health stands as a testament to the dedication of medical teams on the ground — and to the compassion of supporters like you who make this care possible.

Sadly, many children across northern Syria continue to face serious and life-threatening medical conditions while access to healthcare remains limited for displaced and vulnerable families.
