Our STEM girls back at school after the break.
Timeout4Africa has great news to share with you. For the 1st time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, STEM Girls are back in school and STEM activities have resumed. The girls’ involvement with TimeOut4Africa and STEM activities has led to great interest in STEM and the girls were all looking forward to getting back to school and getting involved in learning activities.
Using COVID-19 as a teachable moment, STEM girls learned about the importance of taking safety precautions to prevent the transmission of viruses. Learning the process for social distancing, hand washing, and wearing personal protective gear was important for overall safety.
Project Leader Dr. Kolo discussed how STEM professionals are important in understanding how the Coronavirus travels as well as how research and development will help scientists develop a vaccine for the virus. Additional, Project Leader Mrs. Joy, assisted the STEM Girls during a computer class as they used simulations to see how the Coronavirus invades the human body. Thanks to your support, the donated computers were critically important as Timeout4Africa worked to help girls in Africa learn about STEM and the world around them.
Thank you again for your continuous support which allows Timeout4Africa to reach more kids and make a positive impact in their lives. Please stay connected with us on social media @timeout4africa. Also, visit www.Timeout4Africa.com to make a tax deductible donation on December 1st ( Giving Tuesday) to any of our projects. All donations on that day will be matched. ![Sanitize!!!]()
