Dear Donor,
This Mother's Day, we ask you to see a girl often forgotten: the teenage mother, abandoned by the father of her child, and too often cast out by her own community.
In many of the places we work, a pregnant teenager is met not with compassion, but with shame. When the father walks away—as he frequently does—she is left to raise a child alone, often rejected by her family, forced out of school, and pushed into survival mode. She may sleep in a neighbor's shed, beg for food, or marry an older man just to keep her baby alive.
These are not abstract statistics. They are girls as young as 14 and 15, carrying infants on their backs while still being children themselves. Without support, their daughters repeat the same cycle: poverty, abandonment, early motherhood.
we do not turn away from these young mothers. We provide safe housing, continued education, maternal health care, and parenting support. We also work within communities to break the stigma—so that a teenage mother is no longer abandoned twice: once by her partner, and again by her neighbors.
Before we continue, we want to say this plainly: thank you. Because of you, abandoned teenage mothers have found shelter, schooling, and dignity. Your past generosity has kept young families from the streets. And we are deeply grateful.
This Mother's Day, will you help reach one more? Your gift provides emergency supplies, midwife visits, and tuition for a young mother to stay in school. You cannot erase her abandonment. But you can ensure she does not face it alone.
With gratitude and resolve,
