Rehabilitate 150 Poor Street Children in Yemen

Project Milestone: Rehabilitating 500 Street Children

Through your support throughout six years of implementing this humanitarian project, we have been able to rehabilitate more than 500 Yemeni street children in Sana'a. (Boys & girls), supporting them to go back to school and continue their education.  

As the new academic year has started in Yemen, the SYS Team launched a campaign to encourage street children to go back to school. SYS Team has distributed 50 school bags, school supplies, school uniforms, and comprehensive stationery kits to children transitioning from life on the streets back into formal education. They also conducted three awareness-raising sessions for the targeted children and their families.

Success Story: From the Streets to the Classroom

The true impact of your generosity is best reflected in the story of Zaid, a 12-year-old boy who had spent three years working as a street vendor to support his younger siblings.

Before joining our program, Zaid had lost all hope of returning to school. Through the SYS rehabilitation project, we provided his family with essential food aid and enrolled Zaid in our accelerated learning center. Today, Zaid is not only excelling in his studies but has also taken a leadership role in our sports activities. He told our staff, "I used to look at the ground for scraps, but now I look at the blackboard for a future." Your support turned his struggle for survival into a journey of potential.
