The harvest of honey for 2026 has started in April 2026. This first harvest should be completed in June.
There are over 300 beekeepers linked to our program, from which 55% are women.
Last year we collected 22 tons of raw honey, this year we hope to get close to 30 tons.
In June 2025, we provided some beekeepers with sunflower seeds. Sunflower is very attractive for bees. The beekeepers who had planted sunflower were able to collect honey in November 2025. This increases the volume of honey produced per hives and we are developping a project which would produce sunflower oil from the seeds.
The honey produced mainly from sunflowers has different characteristics and taste than the honey collected in April / May. It is more fluid, light in color and people really appreciate its taste.
We will support the developpment of the growing of sunflowers by the beekeepers.
Due to the success of this program, we are constanly asked to provide new hives by the beekeepers.
Help us help women to be more seld sufficient.
Thank you.
