Fighting Hunger to Improve Learning Outcomes
Development Alert recognizes that hunger is a major barrier to education. Children who attend school without meals often struggle to concentrate and participate in class activities.
To address this challenge, the organization has strengthened its school feeding program, providing meals to vulnerable learners. During this reporting period, many children have benefited from regular meals, leading to noticeable improvements in energy levels, attendance, and academic engagement.
Teachers have observed that children are more attentive and active when they are well-fed. For some beneficiaries, the meal provided at school is the only reliable food they receive in a day.
This program not only supports education but also improves overall health and well-being. However, sustaining and expanding the feeding program requires ongoing donor support.
With additional resources, Development Alert can ensure that no child is forced to learn on an empty stomach.
