Help a Tanzanian Orphan Complete Primary School

A few years ago, we met Editha.  She was a tiny girl who was the victim of abuse, deprivation, and illness. Because she was a step-child, she did not receive the opportunity to attend school or to receive the physical care she needed. Although the family situation was tricky and we could not overtly assist her with an official scholarship, a "good Samaritan" neighbor assisted us in getting her some of the support, supplies and medicine that she needed.                                                                                                                                      

A recent gift by a donor allowed this neighbor to provide Editha with such items like a school uniform, shoes, soap, rice, sugar, and supplies. We are grateful that Editha is in an improved living and education situation and that in some small ways we are able to help protect and educate her.         

                                                        

Editha wrote to us and her special donor in this letter (attached).  The photo of her is quite fuzzy, but in it she offers us a flower of thanks.  Here is our translation of her letter:

   It’s me, Edita.

   I greet you very well. 

   I thank you so much for your help – you gave to (my mother ?). I got it.

   Right now I am entering third grade.  I am doing well with my studies.
