Help a Tanzanian Orphan Complete Primary School

Supporters, we wanted to provide you with a brief update on several of our students.

      

Evelina, who we mentioned during our November update is in standard seven, her final year of primary school.  She continues to get excellent marks and is preparing for her national exams and graduation this year.  In Tanzania, primary school covers preschool through 7th grade.  Final national exams generally take place in September. The next steps for those lucky enough to continue, are either applying to private secondary schools or waiting for the government assignment (placement) of those who have passed the exams well enough to continue. This time of several months between primary school and secondary school - which begins the following January - is often an anxious time for students.  Eveline has been performing very well (see her report card), so we expect her continued success through her final year in primary school.

      

Sara and Cynthia, who we made an appeal for in February, have just begun primary school.  As we were attempting to raise funds for their education, they had to start school a bit late and with a few bumps.  But they are now attending Tumushubire Primary School in Karagwe district. The girls are very excited to finally be getting to school and not having a long, rigorous commute.  They know it is important.  The investment in the education for twins through eight years of schooling is large and donations are still needed.
