Alkhidmat Palestine Response
By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader
Gaza, Palestine: Situation Overview Since October 07, the escalation of conflict and significant displacement throughout Gaza have left over 2.2 million Palestinian civilians into a dire humanitarian crisis. A total blockade has rendered more than 1.9 million people homeless, forcing them to live in temporary shelters. With no access to life-saving relief supplies, medical aid, and basic necessities, the situation has turned into a catastrophe, particularly affecting women, children, the sick, and the injured. Ongoing attacks on hospitals have also impacted women’s health, with tens of thousands of pregnant women and newborn babies’ lives are in danger. UNFPA estimates there are currently 50,000+ pregnant women in Gaza – of whom 5,500 expected to deliver in the next month – who are unable to obtain basic health services.
