Through our initiative, we specifically target community mothers as primary agents of change in fighting child marriage and keeping girls in school. Mothers are uniquely positioned to identify early warning signs—such as sudden absenteeism, domestic pressure, or grooming for marriage. Our training equips them with skills in counseling, negotiation with fathers and in-laws, legal literacy on marriage and education rights, and referral pathways to schools and child protection services.
We also provide practical resources: mobile phones for reporting cases, bicycles for home visits, informational flip charts, and small stipends to conduct doortodoor campaigns. Armed with these tools, mothers intervene directly when a girl is pulled out of school, mediate family conflicts, and create peer support groups to monitor atrisk girls. They become the community’s first line of defense, tackling root causes like poverty, cultural norms, and parental pressure.
By empowering community mothers with sustained training and tangible resources, we transform them into local guardians of girls’ education—reducing dropouts, preventing early marriage, and fostering a protective environment where every girl can complete her schooling.
