Sri Lanka is home to approximately 1.6 million persons with disabilities who face barriers to education, employment, healthcare, and social inclusion. This project supports children, youth, and adults with disabilities through education, vocational training, assistive devices, accessible sanitation facilities, and medical care. By promoting independence, dignity, and equal opportunities, the project helps build a more inclusive society and improve livelihoods.
Persons with disabilities in Sri Lanka, especially in rural areas, face barriers to inclusive education, accessible infrastructure, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Financial hardship and the ongoing economic challenges further limit their access to essential services and skills development. Many also lack assistive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids, reducing their mobility, independence, and ability to fully participate in society.
Our project addresses the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in rural Sri Lanka through educational sponsorships, vocational training, and skills development. We will provide assistive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids to improve mobility and communication, offer healthcare and psychosocial support, and help educational institutions develop accessible infrastructure. These efforts will promote independence, inclusion, and improved quality of life.
The program aims to promote long-term economic empowerment and independence for persons with disabilities. It provides educational sponsorships and tailored skills training to improve employment opportunities and financial security. Access to assistive devices will enhance mobility, communication, and daily living. This support will foster personal growth, self-reliance, and greater social inclusion, enabling persons with disabilities to participate fully in their communities.
