Strengthening Community Surveillance to Stop Ebola
Community surveillance remains one of the most effective strategies for detecting Ebola cases early and preventing further transmission.
Across affected areas, local volunteers are helping identify suspected cases and report them to health authorities for investigation.
Our project supports these efforts by training volunteers, providing communication tools, and promoting community participation in disease surveillance activities. Early reporting allows health teams to quickly isolate cases and trace contacts, reducing the risk of widespread transmission.
The dedication of local communities continues to be a powerful force in Uganda's response.
