ECCO Uganda is implementing a 36-month WASH and Sanitary Dignity Program in Kibuku District, Budaka District, and Pallisa District to improve access to clean water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health services. The project will support over 60,000 beneficiaries through boreholes, latrines, hygiene awareness, and sanitary support for girls.
Problem Statement Communities in Kibuku, Budaka, and Pallisa continue to face severe WASH challenges that undermine health, education, dignity, and economic productivity.
ECCO Uganda will improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in Kibuku District, Budaka District, and Pallisa District by constructing and rehabilitating boreholes, building latrines and handwashing facilities, promoting hygiene education, and supporting girls with reusable sanitary pads. The project will reduce waterborne diseases, improve school attendance, and strengthen community health and dignity.
The project will create lasting improvements in health, education, and community wellbeing in Kibuku District, Budaka District, and Pallisa District. Increased access to safe water and sanitation will reduce waterborne diseases, improve hygiene practices, and lower healthcare costs. Girls will stay in school through better menstrual hygiene support, while trained community WASH committees will ensure sustainable maintenance and long-term community resilience.
