Construction of the roof has started!

By Catherine Hoath | Co-founder, Secretary and Treasurer

Construction of the roof of the laboratory has started after several weeks of waiting for materials to clear through customs.  The walls of the security building have been completed in parallel and the septic system is being prepared to process water and waste.  We are eager for the laboratory to become operational and have been tracking down equipment needs and lining up management to oversee daily work.  MSN plans to follow World Health Organization recommendations to implement a Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) and the model list of Essential Diagonostics (EDL).  In addition strict management of biorisks will be followed for handling infectious agents.

Although there are still a few months of work ahead, progress is being made.
