Reaching Communities Across Uruguay

Every day, community organizations throughout Uruguay work to ensure that children and families have access to nutritious meals. At Banco de Alimentos Uruguay, we are proud to support that effort by helping provide one of the most essential foods for healthy growth: milk.

So far in 2026, we have distributed 42,565 glasses of milk to 20 social organizations located across the country. Through schools, community centers, childcare programs, and shelters, these organizations are able to offer nutritious breakfasts, snacks, and meals to the people they serve.

While the numbers are important, the true impact lies in what they represent: children arriving at school ready to learn, families receiving additional support during difficult times, and community organizations strengthening the services they provide every day.

One of our partner organizations recently told us:

"Having access to these food resources allows us to continue supporting children and families in our community with greater confidence and consistency. It is a vital contribution to our daily work."

This achievement is possible thanks to a network of supporters who share the belief that access to nutritious food should not depend on a family's circumstances. Together, we are helping ensure that organizations throughout Uruguay can continue serving those who need it most.

As the year progresses, we will continue working to expand the reach of this program and increase the number of children and families who benefit from it.
